NEWS RELEASE
June 9, 2004
NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario As reported by the Buffalo News: "Nearly 8,000
gamblers attended a gala opening, by invitation only, of the Niagara Fallsview
Casino Resort on Tuesday evening.
"
Modesty was not the rule in the sprawling casino overlooking the
Horseshoe Falls, where former Orchard Park radiologist Joe Tadone was playing
at the $1,000-max Paigow Poker table with his credit card.
"
'I came up from Florida to get out of the heat,' Tadone said, clicking
his stack of poker chips on the green felt.
"
Tadone said the Niagara Fallsview Casino is 'the closest Vegas-style
one I've seen this side of Detroit.'
"At a 3-Card Poker table, a distinguished-looking man from Toronto with
a gray goatee eased himself into a chair and put down a stack of Canadian $20
bills. The dealer defly laid out the 20s in three rows and plunked down a 5-inch
stack of pink chips.
"
For its gala opening for special guests (it opens to the general
public on Thursday), the Niagara Fallsview unveiled its 'gaming floor' at 5:45
p.m. and entertained the gamblers with a performance by Paul Anka in the Avalon
Ballroom. Other musicians played in the 365 Club, and the Tony Carlucci Orchestra
held sway in the Grand Hall.
"Periodically a crowd gathered, drinks in hand, in a circle around a huge
waterworks under the domed atrium to watch the rushing water foam up into a fiery
orange-red cocktail, while electrical charges ran up and down the interior of
the dome

NEWS RELEASE
April 2, 2004
JUNE 8th OPENING SCHEDULED FOR NEW NIAGARA FALLSVIEW CASINO RESORT
$1 Billion Casino/Hotel/Entertainment/Shopping Complex Will Be the Cornerstone
in the Revitalization of Niagara Falls, Ontario
Niagara Falls, ON - One of the world's most popular and enduring tourist attraction
centres is about to experience a major revival, with the opening on June 8th of
the new Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort. The culmination of six years of planning
and development, the $1 billion entertainment complex is situated on a prime site
overlooking the world-renowned Horseshoe and American Falls at Niagara.
The opening date was announced at news conferences in Toronto and Niagara Falls
today by officials from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLGC) and
Falls Management Company (FMC).
The opening of Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort reaffirms Niagara's position
as a top level North American tourist destination, said Duncan Brown, Chief
Executive Officer of OLGC. Along with several new hotels and attractions
that are currently planned or under construction, the new resort will help create
thousands of new jobs in the Niagara region, and provide a major increase in tourism
revenues for the province.
The new resort will be one of the grandest and most extensive facilities ever
to appear on the Niagara skyline.
The 2.5 million square foot complex includes a 200,000 square foot casino offering
150 gaming tables and 3,000 slot machines; a 30-storey luxury hotel with 368 rooms
and suites; a 15,000 square foot health and fitness spa; and an expansive shopping
Galleria. The 1,500 seat Avalon Ballroom will feature the world's top entertainers.
Patrons will have ten excellent dining venues to choose from, to suit every palate.
This is the largest privately-financed construction project in Canada,
and we're very proud that it's being completed on time and on budget, said
Jim Dougan, President and Chief Operating Officer of FMC. Niagara Falls
has seen a significant resurgence in tourist activity since the opening of Casino
Niagara, in 1996.
We fully expect that Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort will truly revitalize
the community and enhance Niagara's reputation as one of the world's most appealing
tourism destinations.
The project is being developed and managed by FMC, a North American consortium
of five partners, under agreement with OLGC.
Evoking a belle époque theme that celebrates much of the
grand history of the Niagara Falls area, the new entertainment complex was architecturally
designed by a joint venture of Zeidler Partnership, and Bregman and Hamann Architects.
The interior design and theming of the gaming floor and hotel lobby were created
by Dougall Design Associates, which has also done the interiors of several prominent
Las Vegas casino resorts. Wood, stone and other resources that are native to Canada
are being used wherever possible, and natural light is predominant through the
extensive use of glass domes and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Our projections indicate that Niagara Falls will attract as many as twenty
million tourist visits a year, now that the new Casino Resort is opening,
said Ted Salci, Mayor of the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario. In turn, other
new accommodations and attractions will give visitors more reasons to come, and
more reasons to stay longer.
This is, truly, an exciting time for our City and our people, said
the Mayor.
The Grand Opening of Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort will take place in the
afternoon and evening of Tuesday, June 8th, with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony
and other activities. The facility will open to the public on June 10th, subject
to regulatory approval.
The opening of Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort will provide Niagara Falls with
two casino properties, as the existing Casino Niagara will continue to operate.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation is an operational enterprise of
the Government of Ontario, responsible for province-wide lottery games, commercial
and charitable casinos, and the operation and management of slot machine facilities
at horse racing tracks.
Falls Management Company is a consortium of five firms which was selected by
the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation to operate Casino Niagara; and to finance,
design, build and operate Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q.When
will the new casino resort open?
A.About 6,000 invited guests will have the
first opportunity to experience Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort during a Grand
Opening ceremony on Tuesday, June 8, 2004. Due to regulatory requirements, the
facility must subsequently be closed, and the entertainment complex is scheduled
to open to the public on Thursday, June 10, subject to regulatory approval.
Q.Is
there any difference between the existing Casino Niagara and the new Niagara
Fallsview Casino Resort?
A.The two casinos will complement each other,
appealing to a range of tastes as a catalyst to increased tourism. Niagara Fallsview
Casino Resort has been developed as a luxury complex, catering to customers seeking
sophisticated entertainment. Casino Niagara will continue to operate geared toward
customers looking for a casual and fun atmosphere. Together, the two properties
will attract a broader spectrum of patrons by offering experiences for a range
of people and moods.
Q.Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort is
being described as a "Las Vegas style" facility. What does that mean?
A.While
Ontario's other commercial casinos, including Casino Niagara, are first-class
operations, Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort will add a new level of luxury and
glamour. In terms of its size, its amenities and its level of service, Niagara
Fallsview Casino Resort will be able to compete with the finest casino resorts
in the world.
Q.Why does Ontario need a Las Vegas-style
casino resort?
A.We have already seen the extraordinary growth
in tourism in the Niagara region since Casino Niagara opened in 1996. However,
both tourism and gaming are extremely competitive industries, and Ontario needs
to be able to match up against the best in the world if we want to continue to
grow this market. By adding a new level of glamour and sophistication, Niagara
Fallsview Casino Resort will help to raise interest in Niagara as a tourist destination,
inspiring more people to visit - and to stay longer and spend more.
Q.Doesn't
Ontario already have enough casinos?
A.The Government of Ontario is studying the
current situation, to ensure that the number of gaming facilities in the province
is both feasible and appropriate. Market research indicates that Niagara Fallsview
Casino Resort will significantly enhance visitor traffic - which in turn leads
to more jobs, new investment and other economic benefits.
Q.Can Niagara Falls support two casinos?
A.The two-casino strategy is aimed at building
on momentum gained in recent years, by offering more options.
Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort is a complete entertainment mecca, attracting
a sophisticated clientele who demand and appreciate the luxuries of a first-class
resort. Casino Niagara will offer a casual, open atmosphere, as an ideal destination
for patrons who desire fun and great value in a comfortable setting.
In conjunction with the other tourist attractors in the area - including Ontario's
world-renowned wine industry, championship golf courses, and of course one of
the wonders of the world in the Falls themselves - having two casinos in Niagara
Falls will add to its appeal as a world-class tourist destination. Projections
for tourist visits, length of stay, hospitality development, jobs and other economic
spin-offs all indicate that Niagara Falls is primed for continued growth.
Q.How
has casino gaming helped the economy?
A.Casino Niagara has had a tremendous positive
impact on both the local and provincial economies. In addition to generating
revenue for the provincial government (providing more money for health care,
education and other social programs), casino gaming has been a catalyst for economic
growth, attracting billions of dollars in new investment, creating thousands
of jobs - both direct and spin-off - and revitalizing Niagara's tourism sector.
Q.Where will customers come from?
A. As with Casino Niagara, the majority of
visitors to Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort are anticipated to come from the
United States.
Q.How much revenue goes to the province?
A.The Government of Ontario
receives 20% of gross gaming revenue and 100% of net profits from
commercial casinos (including Casino Niagara and Niagara Fallsview
Casino Resort).
Q.How can I get more information?
