Niagara Glen Nature Reserve

If you are interested in the more natural side of Niagara and like to hike, the Niagara Glen is a wonderful place to visit. The Glen is a unique spot of beauty located deep in the Great Gorge and has been designated as a Nature Reserve since 1992.
A metal stairway leads some 30 metres down the side of a cliff to 4 km (2.5 miles) of well-marked and maintained trails that wind through a Carolinian Forest. You will hike past boulders that were left behind as the Falls eroded through the area thousands of years ago. Some paths lead to the waters edge where you can sit on boulders in the water and enjoy the views of the river and see across to the American side.
The Glen is located 8 km (5 miles) north of the Falls on the Niagara River Parkway across form the Whirlpool Golf course.
